I’ve been playing with GlowWorm FW Lite for the past few days. It’s similar to Little Snitch in that it will notify you whenever a program is attempting to access network resources. It seems to be a little more powerful, and I like the interface. It’s easier to see at a glance what permissions you’ve given a program. It feels like you’re looking at a firewall table. Because you are.
I’ve had a few programs hang, requiring me to force quit them, and I had one instance where a kill -9 couldn’t save me. All in all though, it’s a nice little program and shows a lot of promise. Plus, how can you resist a program with a preference screen like this:
